If you're going to play Quidditch, the first thing you need to know is how!
First you are going to need a number of things...
First you are going to need a number of things...
1. You are going to need one volleyball to serve as the quaffle. The quaffle is the ball that the chasers use to score points in
Quidditch. This ball will be thrown through any of three hoops that are about the size of a hula hoop. If you do not have a
volleyball you can find a substitution but a volleyball is your best option.

2. You are going to need a tennis ball and a sock that serve as the snitch. The snitch is the ball that is on the back of the person that plays the snitch. The ball serves as the item that the seekers on each team can get to automatically win the game. You can use another ball inside the sock but a tennis ball is the best.
3. You need two dodge balls that serve as the bludgers. Bludgers are the balls that are thrown at the chasers in order to either knock the quaffle out of their hands or hit them. There are not many substitutions you can use for the bludgers because you need something that will cause some damage but still be light.
4. You are also going to need 6 hoops, 3 for each side of the field that serve as the teams goals. To make them you are going to need six hula hoops and a bunch of plastic pvc pipe, you create a base with the pvc pipe and use duct tape to stick the hula hoops to the top of each pole. These goals should be set about two feet apart.
5. The last thing you are going to need for each player is a broomstick. Many things can serve as a broom in muggle Quidditch, for instance a broom. There is not a best choice for your broom, it can be a stick, or anything else that is short, long, and straight. The broomstick serves as the brooms that you fly on in Quidditch, but rather than fly you hold onto it with one hand at all times and run around.
After you have acquired every element needed to play the game you are going to need to know how to play.
The game starts with seven players on each team, you get into your positions as described on the "players and positions" tab, and have the quaffle set dead center of the field with the two dodgeballs to the side of that. The snitch has the tennis ball on his back and starts where ever he/she pleases. To start the game a ref or friend throw the quaffle in the air like the tip off of a basketball game. You have one of your chasers from each team as the jumper for the quaffle. The rest of the team must be standing by their goal and can't start running until the quaffle is thrown in the air for the tip off.
The game begins and there are only a few rules
1. You can't leave the field unless you are the seeker or snitch.
2. You can not hit other players unless you are the beaters and use the bludgers (dodge balls).
3. You must keep one hand and one hand only on your broom between your legs at all times.
After reading the "players and positions" tab and the information above this you should be good to go!
Have fun, and be safe!
