Quidditch! A game created by J.K. Rowling, in the Harry Potter books that she has written. Played in a world of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with flying brooms, flying balls, and magic, but transformed into a game played by regular people. The magic of the game is not lost in the transformation, but rather changed into something that mere human beings are able play and compete in. From running around with brooms between your legs to using hoops and a variety of different balls, Quidditch came to life in the real world.
About the Author
My name is Ryan Connolly and I decided to write about Quidditch for one of my English class projects. I am eighteen years old and I am from Stilwell Kansas, a beautiful little town in Johnson County. I have lived there my entire life and attended two different high schools before deciding to go to the University of Kansas to major in biology. Before I decided to write my paper, I had no clue how to play Quidditch other than what I had seen in the Harry Potter movies. Coming to Kansas University I found it surprising that we actually have a Quidditch team, and we we're good! I didn't join the team, but I have a few friends that did! I actually got to watch the team practice multiple times during the second semester of my schooling here at Kansas University, and now I feel that I can help others learn to play the game as well.
